Chemical Engineering Department, UTP, formalised a strategic partnership with GEXCON via a virtual MoU signing on 20 January 2026, strengthening collaboration in process safety education, industry-grade training, and joint research to prepare globally competent, industry-ready graduates.​​

​Historic First for UPER–UTP Dual Degree Programme​​

The Chemical Engineering Department at Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS proudly celebrated the graduation of the first cohort of the UPER–UTP​ Dual Degree Programme, marking a key milestone in its international collaboration with Universitas Pertamina. The event brought together graduates, families, and the academic community in recognising globally relevant engineering education and student achievement.​​

​HSE Open Day 2025: Strengthening Safety Awareness Through Industry Engagement​​

HSE Open Day 2025 provided first-year HSE students with early exposure to real industrial accident cases through hands-on HIRARC activities and poster presentations. The Department extends its appreciation to the 17 industry judges from PETRONAS for their valuable insights, and congratulates all students and award winners for their strong engagement in safety-driven, industry-relevant learning.

Chemical Engineering students UTP​ excelled at NREC 2025, securing both Champion and First Runner-up positions during the final pitching session held at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre in conjun​​ction with Loss Prevention Asia 2025. Led by the IChemE – Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS Student Chapter and supported by in​dustry and academic partners, the achievement highlights students’ strong analytical, innovative, and safety-focused engineering capabilities.

ChemRookies 2025 welcomed the new intake of first-year Chemical Engineering students at Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS through engaging ice-breaking activities, team challenges, and sharing sessions. With support from senior student facilitators and lecturers, the programme helped students transition confidently into university life and the Chemical Engineering department.
