The Chemical Engineering Department, Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS, successfully hosted the CHE Grand Alumni & Industry Appreciation Night 2024 on 22 November 2024 at Impiana Hotel, Kuala Lumpur. The event, themed “Malam Seribu Kenangan CHE 2024”, brought together more than 100 participants, including current and former lecturers, alumni, external examiners, industry partners, and their spouses. The event celebrated the enduring bond between the Department and its alumni and industry collaborators, whose contributions continue to strengthen CHE’s academic and professional ecosystem.
From heartfelt speeches and lively interactions to shared laughter and elegant Classic Batik & Songket attire, Malam Seribu Kenangan CHE 2024 brought the CHE community together in a warm and memorable celebration of friendship, legacy, and togetherness.
The evening celebrated enduring relationships and shared memories across generations of the CHE community. A key highlight was the Down Memory Lane session, featuring engaging alumni interviews. The session offered heartfelt reflections on alumni journeys, professional growth, and shared experiences that shaped their time in CHE. The programme also featured a special montage by the Alumni Class of 2012, followed by a nostalgic performance of the song “Kenangan Terindah”. Participants enjoyed multiple lucky draw sessions held throughout the dinner, adding excitement and interaction to the celebration. The evening concluded with the “Raja dan Ratu Busana Warisan” segment, showcasing elegant traditional attire inspired by the theme “Classic Batik & Songket.” Guests also took the opportunity to capture memorable moments at the photo booth and Insta360 station.

The CHE Grand Alumni & Industry Appreciation Night 2024 reaffirmed the Chemical Engineering Department’s strong and enduring alumni network as well as its close ties with industry partners. The evening served as a meaningful platform to celebrate shared memories, reflect on collective journeys, and honour the contributions of alumni, academics, and industry collaborators who have shaped the Department’s legacy over the years. Beyond nostalgia, the gathering strengthened relationships and renewed a shared commitment to continued collaboration, mentorship, and knowledge exchange. As the CHE community looks ahead, the event symbolised a collective aspiration to grow together, support future generations, and achieve greater impact and success in the years to come.
