ADJUNCT PROFESSORS​

An "Adjunct Professor" is an experienced industry professional recognised nationally or internationally in their field. Their role is to strengthen collaboration between UTP and industry, especially in teaching, research, postgraduate (PG) supervision, and promoting UTP.

The main role of an "Adjunct Professor" is to share their expertise on the following matters:

Teaching

1. To share expertise in teaching undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) students.
2. To impart their professional industrial experience to complement/enrich the existing University's curriculum to prepare students for actual industrial expectations.
3. To give talks/lectures/seminars to students, staff, and other UTP employees.

Research

1. To be appointed as Co-Principal Investigator (Co-PI) for research projects.
2. To evaluate the industrial relevance and suitability of the research projects being carried out at UTP, which are within the Adjunct Professor's area of expertise, with the aim of enhancing the quality, relevance, and sustainability of the research.
3. To assist in collaboration with the industry where the Adjunct Professor's area of expertise or other related industries, both local and abroad.

Supervision

1. To co-supervise Master's or PhD students.

Promotion of UTP

1. To enhance industry-university partnerships and broaden networking between industry and UTP.
2. To introduce at least one new industry partner for collaboration and internship placement.

Consultancy

1. To render expertise in the consultancy work undertaken by UTP.​
   
2. To bridge UTP with industry for consultancy opportunities.

To perform any other appropriate duties as determined/requested by the university.
