Overview & Aspiration
The Centre for Corrosion Research synergises the expertise from various departments to provide a comprehensive solution to corrosion problems through a multi disciplinary approach. The corrosion research laboratory is equipped with a wide variety of equipment to perform corrosion research and testing in the following areas:
Corrosion in the oil and gas industry for both upstream and downstream
Upstream corrosion studies including CO2 corrosion with the presence of other acid gases. Research in downstream including plant corrosion, corrosion under insulation (CUI), process - related corrosion and others.
Research interests in coatings and corrosion inhibition.
Corrosion monitoring and corrosion sensors
Research interests are in the area of corrosion monitoring and sensors using advanced techniques sensor technology and microelectronics.
Consultancy including failure analysis
To be a partner of choice in corrosion research
To achieve practical understanding in the field of corrosion, by:
Providing expertise and facilities for both upstream and downstream corrosion study
Conducting testing and research driven by the industrial needs.
