​​Student Exchange Programme

Programme Details

Open for all undergraduate student to become as an exchange student with minimum of one semester with our partner universities around the globe.

Student is entitled for course exemption for equivalent courses provided that the student obtained the minimum score of grade C and above. No effect on CGPA because only credit hours are transferred. Eligible students entitled to get financial assistance from YUTP up to 90%.
All participants completing the designated programme content will be awarded a certificate and transcript upon completion of the programme.

Programme Eligibility

  1. Open for all full time undergraduate (not applicable for RAP) or postgraduate student in their Home University with minimum CGPA of 2.75 or equivalent
  2. Fulfil English requirements (for non-English speaking countries):
    • Minimum IELTS score of 5.0 / CEFR B1 OR - a minimum TOEFL PBT (410– 413) / IBT (34) OR
    • Minimum Cambridge English: Advance (CAE) (160) / CEFR B2 / CPE (180) OR
    • Minimum of Cambridge English: Proficiency (CPE) (180) / CEFR C1 OR
    • Minimum Pearson Test of English (PTE) score 36 OR
    • Minimum MUET (Malaysian University English Test) Band 3
  3. No financial outstanding, satisfactory financial ability for the whole duration of the programme
  4. Not undergoing SIIP during programme duration
  5. Excellent Co-Curricular and good disciplinary record
  6. Agree to be responsible for the total cost incurred
  7. Student may seek other sources of sponsors beyond YUTP & Zakat (for Muslim only)
  8. Nominated by UTP

  2. Submit required documents
    1. Passport-size photo with white background (in JPEG format
      Scanned Copy of Passport (Recommended passport validity duration is 12 months from the traveling date. Include ALL pages (bio-data, all pages that are stamped during your travel, blank pages, and front and back pages)) (In PDF format)
      Scanned Copy of Approval Learning Agreement (In PDF format)
      Updated Curriculum Vitae with maximum 2 pages only (In PDF format)
      Latest academic transcript (In PDF format)
      Proof of parent/guardian financial ability – for YUTP Financial Assistance Scheme applicants only
  3. Attend SEP Interview
    Shortlisted students will be called for interview
  4. Announcement of Interview Result
    Successful candidates name will be submitted for approval to UTP management. Upon approval, the names will be submitted to International Office of Host University
  5. Issuance of Acceptance Letter
    Upon approval by management, Host University will issue an Acceptance Letter/Package. Host University coordinator will contact student with further instructions
  6. Begin Travelling Arrangement
    Students can begin / arrangement upon getting the Acceptance Letter, student are required to attend pre-departure briefing and submit required documents to CSD:
    1. Host University admission letter
    2. A copy of Visa/passport
    3. Return flight ticket
    4. A copy of health insurance
    5. A copy of travel insurance
    6. UTP Letter of Indemnity and Undertaking
    7. YUTP Letter of Undertaking - for YUTP Financial Assistance Scheme applicants only
    8. Pre-SEP Survey
  7. Programme Execution
    1. Student undergo outbound mobility programme
  8. Report
    Submit academic transcript from Host University, Post-SEP Learning Agreement, Post-SEP survey & SEP report.

Programme Fee

May varies based on the total courses registered during the exchange programme
The tuition fees to Host University is waived however; student needs to pay for the tuition fee at UTP for all registered courses during the exchange programme period.
