Universiti Teknologi Petronas (UTP) has launched an energetic intervention to reignite the spark in students' interest in STEM on 27 November 2025. EngageEstreamWaves 2025 took place at the Chancellor's Hall, transforming it into a hub of creativity. This flagship University Social Responsibility (USR) integrates the 'R' for Reading and 'A' for Arts into the traditional STEM model to push the boundaries of conventional learning.
This successful program was supported by the Ministry of Science, Technology, and Innovation (MOSTI), the Ministry of Education (MOE), Jabatan Tenaga ATOM, and Pertubuhan Rakan Komuniti Pendidikan Perak, with a robust RM29,060.00 funding secured to empower 411 participants (371 students and 40 teachers) from MRSM Arau Perlis, SMK Anderson Ipoh, Sek. Dato' Abdul Rahman Yaakub Bota and Sk Sultan Yussuf.
This initiative demonstrated how universities such as UTP positioned themselves as central STREAM educational hubs, meeting national aspirations for development orchestrated by 40 UTP undergraduate MPU4 students. The momentum from the program is already building with the upcoming competition from this flagship, proving students are ready to make changes when the sciences meet creativity.
