A double degree graduate of Law (LLB) and Commerce (B.Comms) from Monash University, Melbourne, Australia, Sareen began his career in PETRONAS in 1999 as a Legal Officer and progressed through various roles in the legal fraternity. His previous positions in PETRONAS were as Executive Assistant to both the Vice President of Legal Division and Senior General Manager of the Legal and Corporate Affairs Division.
He was also Senior Manager of Legal and Corporate Affairs Department in PETRONAS Penapisan Melaka and had worked in Indonesia for a PETRONAS joint venture company, overlooking the Customer and Contract Management portfolio. Since 2014, he is the Honorary Secretary of the Malaysian Petroleum Club (MPC).
In 2018 to 2022, he was tasked to lead the Dewan Filharmonik Petronas (DFP) and the Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra (MPO) as its Chief Executive Officer, before moving back to Petronas Group Strategic Relations and Communications Divisions as Head of Governance, Capability and Change Management Department. Prior to his appointment as UTP's Vice President, Sareen was the Resource Person in the UTP's Full Potential Program.
An avid reader, he spends his free time reading theological and philosophical books, as well as listening to music.
