Professor Ir. Dr. Hilmi Mukhtar received his Bachelor of Engineering in Chemical Engineering in 1990, Master of Science in 1991 and Doctor of Philosophy in 1995 from the University of Wales Swansea, United Kingdom. He has vast experience in teaching, research and senior management. His research expertise is in membrane technology covering synthesising various membranes materials, characterisation, modelling and applications for acid gases removal and wastewater treatment. In administration, he has served as Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academic) since 2018. Currently, he also holds the position of Vice President (Partnership & Ecosystem Building). Prof. Ir. Dr. Hilmi is a Fellow of the Institution of Chemical Engineers (IChemE) and a Chartered Engineer (CEng) in the United Kingdom.
