Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS (UTP) OSH4School University Social Responsibility (USR) Programme 2023 marked the successful and impactful collaboration between UTP (organised by Health, Safety and Environment Department, SHIELD HSE student club, Security Services Department and Property Management and Maintenance Department) with Department of Occupational Safety and Health (DOSH) Perak, Perak Tengah District Education Office, PETRONAS Dagangan Berhad and PETRONAS Fuel Stations. 
 
The aim of the programme is to enhance awareness and inculcate occupational safety and health (OSH) culture from an early age to develop future generations with OSH mindset and culture, and empower schools with the knowledge and tools to create a safer and healthier learning environment. 
 
UTP OSH4School USR Programme was conducted in six selected schools in Perak Tengah district namely MRSM Pasir Salak, SK Changkat Banjar, SK Cikgu Mior Shahrudin, SK Telok Perang, SK Pulau Padang and SK Tanjong Bidara, starting from July to August 2023.
 
The students, teachers and support staff were exposed to various aspects of OSH, including introduction of hazard and risk, first aid, electrical safety, fire safety, building evacuation, and fire extinguishing demonstrations.

Additionally, the sharing of best practices and expertise regarding hazard identification and risk assessment, chemical and scheduled waste management from UTP staff, with the collaboration of the schools, helped to enhance safety and reduce risks at the school, enabling the schools to instil OSH awareness and culture. Furthermore, it equipped the participants with the information needed to prevent accidents and respond effectively in case of emergencies. The programme also contributed to the development of a stronger safety culture within the participating schools.​

On 14 September 2023, the OSH4School USR Programme 2023 closing ceremony was held to celebrate the successful achievements of the event and appreciate all stakeholders involved in promoting occupational safety and health awareness. The programme would not have been possible without the strong collaboration and support from all parties involved. 

Present at the closing ceremony were Dr Rabaayah Daud Perak DOSH Director, Tuan Haji Ahamd Daud Zainuddin Perak Tengah Deputy District Education Officer (Planning), Encik Muhammad Anuar Abdul Samad PETRONAS Dagangan Berhad Head Regional Retail North, Puan Bashariah Basaruddin PETRONAS Fuel Stations representative, Encik Muhammad Syazwan Amarjit Abdullah UTP Chief Support Services Officer, Pn Shamsina Shaharun Senior Director Corporate Communication and headmasters from the participating schools.
