​UTP Inventors Bags The Most Gold Medals In International Exhibition

Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS (UTP) recorded an outstanding achievement when all of its 32 exhibits won medals at the recently concluded International Invention, Innovation and Exhibition (ITEX 2017).

This achievement was a testimony of the university's strength in its aspiration to be a globally prominent centre of innovation and creativity.   
UTP bagged 23 gold medals and nine silver medal including two special awards.  

The first special award was the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (MOSTI) Patron Award for UTP winning the highest number of awards. 

The second was for the International Federation of Inventors' Associations award for Professor Dr Noorhana Yahya's research on Next Generation Green and Economical Urea.

ITEX is an annual R&D exhibition that highlights the best in research works among fellow inventors and researchers globally. It provides a platform for inventors to seek out potential investors to commercialise their invention and new products. 

The event is deemed as the region's leading expo on inventions and innovations. This year's participation included countries from Bahrain, China, Egypt, England, Germany, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Iran, Korea, USA, Taiwan, Sri Lanka and Thailand.
