CONVO: Peacock Bass Rapala Master Challenge 2017
In the early morning of 7 Oct 2017, a crowd can be seen slowly growing around UTP Lake for one of the most anticipated event: UTP Peacock Bass Rapala Master Challenge 2017.
The objective of this fishing competition is to eliminate a non-native fish (Peacock Bass) from UTP lake to maintain its ecosystem.
The competition was organised by UTP Angling Society in collaboration with Daiwa and Rapala as the Host sponsors. This event managed to attract 250 anglers throughout Malaysia to participate and compete for the winning title. The participants caught almost 150 Peacock Bass!
Apart from the competition, there was also a Bait-casting Clinic conducted by Mr. Fred Goh of Rapala VMC Asia Pacific.
UTP Angling society is also working closely with Jabatan Perikanan Perak, as 40 thousand local fish fry mainly jelawat, patin, lampam and tilapia is scheduled to be released in UTP lakes on the 14th of Oct 2017.
