The Master of Pembroke College Cambridge, Lord Smith of Finsbury, visited Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS (UTP) on 7 April 2016 to discuss and explore ideas regarding the college’s Corporate Partnership Programme.
The event was hosted by Datuk Ir (Dr) Abdul Rahim Hj Hashim, Vice Chancellor of UTP.
This visit was a follow up on the memorandum of understanding between both parties which was signed on 1 January 2015. The link between UTP and University of Cambridge dates back to 2012 when UTP signed a Memorandum of Agreement with the University of Cambridge on 1 December 2012.
UTP also have an MOA with Admissions Testing Service (ATS), University of Cambridge to provide assessment tools and services related to the selection of applicants for UTP’s foundation and undergraduate programmes.
“Pembroke is proud of this burgeoning connection with UTP and we look forward to welcoming the Vice-Chancellor, Datuk Ir (Dr) Abdul Rahim Hashim, as well of course as other distinguished representatives of UTP, into the Pembroke community in Cambridge,” said the Master of Pembroke.
“It was a great opportunity to meet with Lord Smith and develop some new exciting opportunities for staff and students across both institutions” said Datuk Abdul Rahim.
UTP looks forward to working with Pembroke College in the areas of secondments, student placements, seminars, workshops, lectures and other collaborative efforts of mutual interest.
