​UTP Hari Raya Gathering (10 August 2014)​

More than 1000 guests attended UTP Hari Raya Aidilfitri lunch gathering at ​Casuarina@Meru Hotel, Ipoh recently.    They comprised of UTP staff, their spouses and children.

On hand to personally greet the guests were UTP Vice Chancellor, Datuk Ir (Dr) Abdul Rahim Hashim, accompanied by his wife, Professor Datin Dr Suzana Sulaiman and UTP Management Committee Members.

Datuk Abdul Rahim and UTP MC Members also handed out “duit raya” to the staff’s children.   Academic excellence awards and newly-wed presents were also presented to deserving staff.

Guests were treated with a wide array of modern and traditional delicacies such as roasted lamb, prawn fritters, lemang, ketupat, rendang and satay.

This Hari Raya gathering is held annually specifically to bring together UTP staff of diverse racial backgrounds.  This year the event was celebrated in moderation and the festivity was kept light and simple in remembrance of the MH370 and MH17 tragedy.


Also present at the event were Perak state government officials and members of the media.
