UTP Family Day (23 March 2013)
23 March 2013 was an amazing day filled with laughter, fun and excitement for more than 300 staff of Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS and their families as they gathered at the Lost World of Tambun, Perak for the annual UTP Family Day.
Themed “Pirates of The Carribean”, the event was an avenue for UTP staff to unwind and, most importantly, to foster the spirit of unity between UTP community and their family members.
The event kicked off with the opening speech by UTP Vice Chancellor, Datuk (Ir) Dr Abdul Rahim Hashim, followed by aerobics exercise by all attendees. In his opening speech, Datuk (Ir) Dr Abdul Rahim hoped that everyone made full use of the excellent opportunity accorded by this event to strengthen ties and relationship amongst them.
As in previous years, there were various entertaining telematches organised for the staff and their families such as Bee Attack, Blow-Blow Burst, Sweet Factory and Tug of War, and Fancy Dress competitions for their children.
There was also Lucky Draws with attractive goodies such as gift vouchers and electrical appliances.
The event was hosted by UTP staff, En. Imtias @ Amir Bahauddin and Associate Professor Dr. Shamsul Rahman Kutty, who enlivened the atmosphere with their witty remarks.
