Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS (UTP) Debate Club (UTP DC) emerged as the Institutional Champion in the recently concluded 2013 Asian English Olympics (AEO13) at Bina Nusantara University in Jakarta, from 18 to 21 February 2013.
The Asian English Olympics is an annual event organised by Binus University, as a platform to gather high school and university students all over Asia for the love of English.
This year, AEO13 had over 500 participants representing more than 100 education institutions from the Asian region, including Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) and International Islamic University Malaysia.
AEO13 had six categories of competitions, namely debate, speech, storytelling, newscasting, scrabble and short movie-making. 21 students from UTP took part in all six categories.
