​Ministry of Higher Education (MOHE) Research Fund Presentation (5 July 2012)

The Ministry of Higher Education (MOHE) Research Fund Presentation ceremony was held on 5 July 2012 at the Ministry of Higher Education, Putrajaya.

The event was officiated by the Minister of Higher Education, YB Dato’ Seri Mohamed Khalid Nordin to award the four main research schemes to successful public and private higher learning institutions in Malaysia.  The four research schemes are the Fundamental Research Grant Scheme (FRGS), Exploratory Research Grant Scheme (ERGS), Long Term Research Grant Scheme (LRGS) and Prototype Research Grant Scheme (PRGS).

UTP Vice Chancellor, Datuk Dr Zainal Abidin Hj Kasim represented UTP and 25 other private higher learning institutions in Malaysia to receive the FRGS from YB Dato’ Seri Mohamed Khalid Nordin.

For 2012, research grants of about RM163 million were approved to be channelled to public and private institutions.  Of the RM163 million, RM150 million were awarded to the public institutions of higher learning, while the remainder were awarded to private institutions of higher learning.

Also attending the event was MOHE Director General, YBhg. Dato’ Prof. Dr. Rujhan Mustafa and MOHE Secretary General, YBhg. Datuk Ab Rahim Md Noor.
