UTP Is The First University To Receive MSOSH OSH Silver Award 2007 (25 Aug 2008)
Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS (UTP) is the first university in Malaysia to receive the Malaysian Society for Occupational Safety & Health (MSOSH) Silver Award 2007 under the Service Sector category. The award was presented by Datuk Thomas George, Chief Secretary of Ministry of Human Resources representing Yang Berhormat Datuk Dr S Subramaniam, Minister of Human Resources during the MSOSH Annual Dinner on 25th August 2008 at One World Hotel, Bandar Utama, Petaling Jaya, Selangor.
10 delegates from UTP Property Management & Property Department, Laboratory, Services Unit, Security Department, Residential College and HSE were present at the ceremony. En Wan Tarmizi Wan Ismail, Head of HSE Department received the award on behalf of the University.
This is the first time UTP participated in such competitions with the objective to assess the University’s occupational safety & health management standarads based on the criteria set by the MSOSH OSH Award 2007. With this achievement, UTP will continue to participate in future competitions for the higher categories such as Gold Merit Award or Grand Award.
