UTP contigent at Perak State National Day Celebration 2008 (31 Aug 2008)
For the last 9 years, UTP has never failed to participate in the Merdeka Parade held by the Perak state government during the National Day celebrations. The contingent consists of 55 students from various programmes. The contingent had undergone training headed by En Mohd Ramli b Abdul Razak, En Khairul Anuar b Osman and En Azhar b Mohd Isa weeks before the event took place.
The contingent's impressive marching and costume drew cheer and applause as it passed through the main stage in front of Ipoh Town Hall, where thousands had converged on that early Sunday morning of 31 August 2008 to watch the annual Merdeka Parade.
The eve of the Merdeka Day also saw UTP students participating in the performance for Ambang Merdeka organised by Perak Tengah District.
