National Varsity Chinese debating Competition 2008 - UTP Chinese Debating Team Emerged Runner- up (24 Aug 2008)
UTP Mandarin Debate team participated in the “National Varsity Chinese Debating Competition 2008” organized by the Chinese Society of Universiti Malaya involving around 20 teams. The preliminary rounds were held from the 8th - 23rd August 2008 at Universiti Malaya (UM). The UTP Mandarin Debate team emerged Runner Up in the final (losing to UPM) which was held on the 24th August 2008 (Sunday). The final was telecast “live” by RTM TV2 at 7.00pm. To cap a wonderful night, one of our debaters (Lee Kok Hock) was announced as the Best Speaker in the finals.
