Productivity Nominal Analytics (PNA™)

TECHNOLOGY READINESS LEVEL: 7

BRIEF TECHNOLOGY
Productivity Nominal Analytics (PNA™) computes and visualizes construction productivity data and nominal values derived from past projects.

PROBLEM STATEMENT & CURRENT ISSUES
  • Time & Cost Overruns - Too often, construction projects go over budget and over time, which makes it hard to make money. Analytics provide crucial indicators to construction company which may have a major impact on profit and client satisfaction.
  • Poor Short-Term Planning - More than 80% of performance variances in construction projects are attributable to changes in work plan, inadequate communication of resource availability (work sites, materials, & personnel) and underestimating task effort (which needs knowledge of productivity rates (nominal) from the site)

USEFULNESS & APPLICATION
  • PNA equips construction practitioners and SMEs with actionable insights through analytics:
  • Worksite assessment
  • Tendering and contract evaluation
  • Cost risk assessment and schedule assessment reviews
  • Planning package reviews
  • Construction performance monitoring and control during project execution

IMPACT OF THE PRODUCT
  • Establish consistent and accurate plan to achieve project OTOBOS.
  • Productivity nominal for efficient project management (improving efficiency, mitigating risks, and optimizing resources)
  • Provide baseline for construction productivity estimation and monitoring
  • Enhance productivity reporting and forecast

MARKET POTENTIAL
  • User: Project Manager, Project Engineer, Cost Estimator, Bid Evaluator, etc.
  • Industry: Construction, Manufacturing, Oil and Gas

INDUSTRY COLLABORATION
  • PETRONAS (GPD PD&T)
