For the first time, Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS (UTP) participated in two categories; the Marching Category under the Education Institutions (Institutions of Higher Learning & Schools) and the Vehicle Parade Category during the 69th National Day Celebration 2026 at the Perak State level.
For the Marching Category, UTP Contingent proudly marched forward in internationally acclaimed graduation attire, embodying the spirit of patriotism.
With the theme - UTP is built by industry, for industry and advancing together with industry.
Led by Lieutenant Mohammad Afifi bin Mohd Hashim, the contingent comprised 55 students and staff from diverse academic, racial and national backgrounds.
Under the Vehicle Parade category, UTP made history as the first higher education institution in Perak to introduce an electric vehicle bus. This environmentally friendly service connects Seri Iskandar, Tronoh and the UTP campus, particularly for the convenience of students.
This initiative is expected to reduce carbon emissions by 66 tonnes of CO₂e annually. It reflects UTP’s commitment to green mobility, clean technology and a low-carbon, sustainable campus of the future.
