Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS (UTP) recognised outstanding students, student clubs and societies, and student-led initiatives at the Student Excellence Appreciation (SEA) Awards 2026. The ceremony was officiated by UTP Provost Prof Benjamin Colin Cosh. The awards celebrate achievements in leadership, innovation, volunteerism, and community engagement – core values the University aims to instill in its graduates. Held annually, the SEA Awards honour students who excel not only academically but also through their initiatives, leadership, and service. The awards reflect UTP’s commitment to developing future-ready graduates equipped to excel professionally and contribute to society.
This year's recipients included Ammar Dzulkarnain Muhammad Najib, who received both the UTP Student Leader of the Year Award and the UTP Innovator of the Year Award. Luis Cheong Jun-Way was honoured as UTP Volunteer of the Year and UTP Community and Social Leader, while the UTP Rotaract Club received the Youth Empowerment Award and the UTP Premier Club/Society Award.
Student-led initiative MySaveFood @ Ramadan 2026 was also a double winner, receiving the Community Outreach Award and UTP Event of the Year under the Exemplary Service Award category. The awards were presented across three major categories, namely the Outstanding Student Clubs and Societies Award, Exemplary Service Award, and Distinguished President Award.
In addition to leadership, innovation, and volunteerism, the award categories also recognise excellence in entrepreneurship, arts and culture, and sports. Together, they showcase the diverse ways UTP students contribute to campus life and beyond, celebrating those who have made a meaningful impact on the University and the wider community.
The event also featured performances by UTP students before concluding with a special performance by UTP Student Development Advisory Council (SDAC) member and singer Datuk Syafinaz Selamat. Fellow SDAC member Faiz Hussin, Founder and Managing Director of Dyna Segmen Sdn Bhd, was also in attendance, underscoring the Council's continued support for student development initiatives at UTP.
As one of UTP’s flagship student recognition events, the SEA Awards continue to inspire students to pursue excellence beyond the classroom while making meaningful contributions to society. The full list of SEA Awards 2026 winners is available on the
