LPA 2025 Opening

The International Conference, Loss Prevention Asia (LPA) 2025, held at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre, reaffirmed its position as a premier regional platform dedicated to advancing process safety, risk management, and responsible innovation.

With safety gaining renewed urgency across industries, LPA 2025 recorded a significant increase of 800 registered delegates and presenters, including 163 technical papers — a strong signal of the growing momentum and shared commitment within the professional community to strengthen loss prevention culture through data-driven and technology-enabled approaches.

This year also saw a rise in industry participation within the exhibition arena, with major players showcasing cutting-edge solutions in process safety, digital monitoring, and risk mitigation. The vibrant exhibition floor created an inspiring environment for collaboration and knowledge exchange between academia, industry, and regulators.
Technical Presentation

Prof. Ts. Dr. Shahrina Md Nordin, Chairperson of LPA 2025, noted that this increased engagement reflects how safety is evolving beyond compliance into a domain of innovation and shared accountability.

“Loss prevention today is about responsible innovation — using data, technology, and collaboration to foresee and prevent risks before they happen. When safety is powered by insight and ethics, it becomes a driver of progress rather than a constraint.”

Panel Discussion

She added that sustaining this momentum requires collective will and inclusive action.

Audience Engagement

“Safety is not just an operational requirement; it is a shared responsibility. By leveraging digital tools, analytics, and cross-sector learning, we can design safer systems that protect people, assets, and the environment.”

Technology Showcase

In line with its mission to broaden public awareness, LPA 2025 broke new ground by opening its doors to the public for the first time — resulting in a record-breaking total attendance of 1,288 participants, including 491 walk-in visitors. This milestone highlights LPA's commitment to making safety a shared societal value, reaching beyond industry walls.

Public Engagement

The event was jointly organised by UTP's Centre of Advanced Process Safety (CAPS), the Institute of Smart and Sustainable Living (ISSL), and PETRONAS Projects, Technology & Health, Safety, Security & Environment (PT&HSSE), with support from strategic partners including PETRONAS, Shell, PTTEP, ConocoPhillips, TotalEnergies, Aeromon, and others — all united in advancing excellence and innovation in safety.
