Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS (UTP), under the leadership of its newly appointed President and Chief Executive Officer, Ir. Mohamed Firouz Asnan, accompanied by the university’s senior leaders, has initiated a series of strategic courtesy visits and engagement sessions in early June 2025. These efforts aim to deepen collaboration with stakeholders from the Perak State Government, the Ministry of Higher Education, and Perak Tengah District authorities.
On 3 June, the President and CEO met with Tuan Mohd Zaki Abdul Rahman, District Officer of Perak Tengah, to reaffirm UTP’s presence in the district and explore shared priorities for joint initiatives.
Later that day, he engaged with Yang Berhormat Khairudin Abu Hanipah, Member of the Perak State Executive Council for Education, Higher Education, Youth and Sports, with discussions centred on enhancing collaboration in academic programmes and youth development.
On 5 June, En Firouz held a meeting with YBhg Datuk Professor Dr Azlinda Azman, Director General of Higher Education, Ministry of Higher Education (MoHE), to explore potential areas for strategic collaboration, building on existing initiatives between MoHE and UTP.
Continuing the outreach, En Firouz paid a courtesy call on 9 June to Yang Amat Berhormat Dato’ Seri Saarani Mohamad, Menteri Besar of Perak, in the presence of Yang Berhormat Dato’ Ahmad Suadi Abdul Rahim, State Secretary of Perak. The meeting focused on strengthening ongoing collaboration in key areas such as talent development and community engagement in support of the state’s strategic goals.
