Tanjung Kepah Mangrove Action Project: Community-Based Mangrove Ecosystem Conservation and Restoration Programme

The mangrove restoration initiative generates significant environmental and socio-economic value by strengthening coastal resilience and supporting local livelihoods.

The project enhances mangrove growth by protecting young saplings, encouraging sedimentation, and stabilising the coastal environment, contributing to healthier ecosystems. Improved coastal conditions help mitigate erosion and sustain natural sediment flows essential for long-term ecosystem health.

In addition, successful mangrove replantation and maintenance activities create employment opportunities for local communities, supporting income generation, economic growth, and sustainable development.

Treatment of Sanitary Sewage Discharge from Tasik Temenggor Houseboats using integrated sewage treatment system (i-STS)

The implementation of an Integrated Sewage Treatment System (i‑STS) for Tasik Temenggor houseboats upgrades the existing SSTS at Pulau Banding Public Jetty to meet Standard A requirements through a mechanised activated sludge system, improving effluent quality and reducing lake pollution, while enhancing the health of the lake ecosystem and supporting growth in tourism and recreational activities, ultimately creating economic opportunities for the local community through sustainable development.
