UTP Shines on the Global Stage with Win at the Inaugural Young Women in Engineering Award
Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS (UTP) proudly celebrates a significant milestone as Dr. Serene Lock Sow Mun is named a winner of the inaugural Young Women in Engineering Award. This prestigious international recognition highlights her outstanding contributions to engineering research and underscores UTP’s continued commitment to advancing excellence, innovation, and diversity in STEM.
We are pleased to announce the winners of the first edition of the Young Women in Engineering Award, established to acknowledge the achievements of young women investigators in the field of engineering and inspire young women to consider research and careers in engineering.
After a rigorous evaluation process, including a committee review and voting, two winners have been selected for their exceptional contributions to engineering research and their potential for future leadership.
Award winners:
Dr. Miriam Filippi, ETH Zurich, Switzerland;
Dr. Serene Lock Sow Mun, Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS, Malaysia.
As the awardees, Dr. Miriam Filippi and Dr. Serene Lock Sow Mun will receive CHF 1000, an electronic certificate, and a voucher to waive the article processing charges (APCs) for one submission to a journal within the field of engineering (subject to peer review)—valid for one year.
