Across Oceans, One Family – UTP Alumni Engagement Australia 2025
Distance may separate us, but the bond of shared memories and alma mater always finds a way to bring us home — even from across the globe.
On 8 and 9 March 2025, the spirit of UTP travelled far and wide, reuniting alumni in two of Australia’s most vibrant cities — Melbourne and Sydney — for a meaningful Iftar Engagement Session. Organised by the UTP Alumni Association with the support of the Alumni Relations Office, these gatherings were more than just meals. They were heartfelt reunions, where memories were revisited and new connections sparked under the glow of Ramadhan.
Melbourne | 8 March 2025
In the cool autumn air of Melbourne, alumni gathered in warmth and familiarity. Laughter echoed over plates of shared food, as old friends reunited and new faces were welcomed into the fold. The evening was an opportunity not just to break fast together, but to share stories, exchange updates from back home, and reflect on the journey since graduation.

The following day in Sydney, the spirit remained just as vibrant. Conversations flowed as naturally as the evening breeze, and the sense of belonging was unmistakable. As the call to prayer signaled the end of the day’s fast, hearts were full — not just with food, but with gratitude and connection.

Across both cities, around 50 alumni came together, proving that no matter where life leads us, UTP is a bond that endures. The sessions were also honoured by the presence of M. Syazwan Amarjit B Abdullah, whose attendance added a special note of connection between the university and its extended family abroad.
These gatherings served not only as moments of reunion, but as reminders of the ever-growing global presence of UTP alumni — professionals, leaders, and changemakers rooted in shared beginnings.
As we continue to expand our reach across continents, one truth remains: no matter the distance, UTP alumni are always just one iftar away from home.
