In the heart of Kuala Lumpur, against the elegant backdrop of Al Amber Restaurant, more than 50 Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS (UTP) alumni and their families gathered for an evening filled with laughter, reunion, and rich tradition — Prosperity Night with UTP Alumni.
This special Lunar New Year-themed dinner, held on the 14th of February 2025, brought together generations of alumni in a vibrant celebration of connection and culture. It was a night to remember, with joyful reunions as familiar faces reconnected and new bonds were formed. The atmosphere buzzed with stories from the past and hopes for the future.
Gracing the occasion were two esteemed guests from UTP: Prof. Dr. Tang Tong Boon, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, and Pn. Shamsina Shaharun, Senior Director of the Corporate Communication Division. Their presence underscored the strong and continuing relationship between the university and its alumni.
A highlight of the evening was the Yee Sang tossing ceremony — a cherished tradition symbolizing abundance and prosperity. The tossing was led by UTP’s own alumni, sparking laughter and joyful cheers as attendees embraced the symbolic start to a prosperous year ahead.
