Integrated Suspended Growth Bioreactor System (i-SGBR)
Centered Video Example
TECHNOLOGY READINESS LEVEL (TRL): 7
BRIEF TECHNOLOGY
An Integrated bioreactor (anoxic, aeration, aerobic digester, and clarifier in one unit) system as an innovative design to perform organic matter removal, nitrification, denitrification, simultaneous aerobic digestion of sludge degradation, and final clarification
i-SGBR COMPONENT
Anoxic:
Remove nitrogen through biological denitrification, reducing nutrient pollution in water bodies.
Aeration:
Increasing DO levels, promoting aerobic biological and enhancing the removal of pollutants.
Aerobic Digester:
Efficiently decomposes organic waste, reducing sludge volume and producing stable, nutrient-rich byproducts
Clarifier:
Enhances wastewater treatment by effectively separating suspended solids from liquids, producing clearer effluent.
PROBLEM STATEMENT & CURRENT ISSUES
Conventional wastewater treatment systems accumulate large volumes of sludge and also require a large space.
High disposal cost for the sludge.
Lack of wastewater treatment system for small settlements and communities.
USEFULNESS & APPLICATION
Conventional wastewater treatment systems accumulate large volumes of sludge and also require a large space.
High disposal cost for the sludge.
Lack of wastewater treatment system for small settlements and communities.
IMPACT OF THE PRODUCT
i-SGBR enhances water quality, reduces pollution, and boosts efficiency.
Reduces operational and maintenance costs.
Making it a cost-effective solution for both small and large-scale operations.
The development, installation, and maintenance of i-SGBR systems can create jobs in engineering.
Increased access to clean water, particularly in water-scarce regions.
MARKET POTENTIAL
i-SGBR's compact design makes it suitable for decentralized wastewater systems in rural or remote areas.
Schools, industries such as food processing and chemicals, which generate high-strength wastewater, are key markets for i-SGBR systems.
Market potential in municipal sectors as cities upgrade or expand their wastewater treatment facilities.
