BECOME AN ADJUNCT LECTURER
The Adjunct Lecturer (AL) programme is part of the multi-mode teaching and learning process aimed at enriching students’ learning experience. Through the AL programme, students are exposed to the current industrial practices related to the courses they currently undertake at UTP. Students can relate the application of the knowledge they have learnt in class into the related area of practice in industry
Job Scope / Duties
Teaching
- Impart their professional industrial experience to complement/improve the existing University’s curriculum to prepare students to the actual industrial expectations.
- Give talks, lectures, seminars to students, staff, and other PETRONAS employees.
- A minimum of TWO (2) hours per visit. If teaching days are more than 3 days, course lecturer has to provide justification and get endorsement from Chair of Department prior approval by DVCA.
Promotion of UTP
- Enhance industry-university partnership and broaden networking between industry-university.
- Render expertise in the consultancy work undertaken by UTP.
- Perform any other appropriate duties as determined/requested by the university
- Adjunct Lecturer is not considered as permanent or a contract staff of UTP
Benefits and Entitlement

Honorarium |
- RM400 per visit (non-PETRONAS)
- RM200 per visit (PETRONAS staff)
Note: AL would have the option to treat the AL session on voluntary basis

Overland transport |
Adjunct Lecturer (AL) is required to provide:
- Google map for mileage claim which is RM0.80 per KM.
- Tol receipt (if any)
- Parking receipt (if any)

Taxi fare |
Adjunct Lecturer may claim taxi fare to and from airport or workplace/home to the University. |
Air travel |
Economy class from airport nearest to home address. *Only local travel fare will be reimbursed to all AL |
Lodging allowance |
An allowance of RM50.00 per night is payable if the panel opts to arrange for own lodging. |
Accommodation |
The University will arrange lodging as deemed suitable for the AL. Charges will be paid by the University (personal expenses such as telephone, laundry, mini bar, etc. will NOT be borne by the University). |
Note:
UTP shall have the discretion to revise the TOR, honorarium, and allowances package as and when required and shall seek prior approval from the Approving Authority before making any changes.
