More than 2,100 runners gathered at the Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS (UTP) Chancellor Complex for the GoGreen Convo Run 2018.
The yearly event saw participants, including UTP students and staff, the local community and runners all over Malaysia, test their limits in the 21km and 7km distance.
The event, organised by UTP, supports for a greener future. Apart from medals, finishers for both races were gifted with plants such as kacip fatimah, kerdas and beruas.
It also aimed to promote healthy lifestyle as well as strengthening UTP's relationship with its surrounding area.
Now in its fourth year, the GoGreen Convo Run 2018 was organised in conjunction with the university's 18th convocation ceremony to be held on 18 November 2018.
Present at the event were UTP Vice Chancellor Professor Dr Mohamed Ibrahim Abdul Mutalib, UTP Deputy Vice Chancellor Student Affairs and Alumni Associate Professor Dr Nor Hisham Hamid and UTP 18th Convocation Ceremony Chairman Associate Professor Dr Ku Zilati Ku Shaari.
Other events to be held in conjunction with UTP 18th convocation are ConvoRide (cycling competition) on 4 November and ConvoFest from 14 – 18 November.
The ConvoFest's activities will be organised according to five different themes namely Academic Day, Islamic Day, Sports Day, Entertainment Day and Chill Day. In addition to the themed events, various activities will be organised such as handicraft exhibition, bookfest, traditional food fest, batik/labu making demo, sukan rakyat, chess competition, futsal, netball, futsal, paintball and archery.
