STAFF GIVING CAMPAIGN FOR YUTP SCHOLARSHIP FUND

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

 

 

1.     What is Yayasan Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS (YUTP)?

YUTP is a foundation, established in 2007 to promote and further the cause of education in the country, and to support the future development of Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS (UTP) as an academic institution of excellence.

YUTP plays a key role in seeking donations and in forging new partnership with individuals and organisations, and to ensure that donations are channelled to the rightful beneficiaries in accordance to the criteria set by our donors.

YUTP's efforts are dedicated to the following 4 aspirations:-

  • Scholarship and Bursary
  • Student Development Activities
  • Research and Innovation
  • General Administrative to support UTP's OPEX and CAPEX 
     

 

2.     What is Staff Giving Campaign?

Staff Giving Campaign is a fundraising initiative to raise YUTP's scholarship funds. Employees are most welcome to contribute to this fund through monthly salary deduction as minimum as RM10 per month or more.

 

 

3.     What is YUTP Scholarship Fund?

YUTP's scholarship fund provides financial assistance to the underprivileged undergraduate students to achieve their academic dreams at UTP. The assistance covers tuition and hostel fees, monthly stipend allowance, equipment allowance, book allowance, computer allowance and once in a year flight fare for scholars originating from Sabah and Sarawak.

 

 

4.     Who are the beneficiaries of the YUTP Scholarship Fund?

The scholarship is awarded to underprivileged students who have achieved excellent academic results as well as exhibited active involvement in extra-curricular activities. Selection of scholars must comply to the following criteria:-

  • Malaysian only
  • Household family income RM4,000 a month or below
  • Minimum 5A+ 4A- in SPM
  • Active in co-curricular activities – position held in student clubs or societies
  • Achievement in sports or other activities

 

5.     Who should contribute?

All employees of PETRONAS, OPUs, PLC, Holding Companies, ALAM, UTP and INSTEP are most welcome to contribute through monthly salary deduction as low as RM10 a month.

 

 

6.     Why should I contribute to YUTP's Scholarship Fund?

Your contributions will go a long way in strengthening the foundation's role in providing financial assistance to brilliant students who come from poor and challenging family background to get world-class education at UTP. With a small amount every month, your contribution could transform their lives in achieving their academic goals and giving them a chance to a brighter future that will enable them to help their families, societies and communities thereon.

Contributing to a future success of a bright student is by far one of the most rewarding feeling / satisfaction one could have.

 

 

7.     Will I get tax deduction benefit?

Definitely YES. All cash contributions to YUTP are tax deductible under Section 44(6) of Income Tax Act 1967.

The official receipt of your annual contribution will be sent to you at the beginning of the following year.

 

 

8.     How can I contribute?

Simple. The contribution form namely PY07 form is accessible through MyPassport.

Your monthly contribution will appear in the monthly employee's payslip.


 

1. Please indicate the 3rd Party description effective date, currency and deduction amount in the designated fields. The fields marked with "*" are required.

 

2. This form is only applicable to PETRONAS endorsed 3rd Parties. Please refer to the "List of Recognised 3rd Parties" as published in the HRCS website.

 

3. Please note that any changes of existing deduction amount indicate the full amount of deduction, NOT the top up amount of deduction.

 

4. Only PDF attachments are allowed, with a maximum size of 5 MB per file.

9.     How can I increase / reduce / terminate my monthly contribution?

You can make changes or terminate the monthly contribution amount by using the same PY07 form which is accessible through MyPassport

 

 

10.  Is there any deadline to join the Staff Giving Campaign?

 

There is no specific deadline to join the campaign.

 

 

11.  How do I make a one-off contribution?

You can make a one-off contribution by donating directly to YUTP's account.
