Intelligent Cities Overview & Aspiration

It is generally accepted that a good quality of life requires a well-functioning infrastructure. Moreover, an effective infrastructure in turn contributes to economic prosperity, further improving quality of life. Unfortunately, the infrastructure in many cities lags behind the increase in demand. The population poses major challenges for city governments in both emerging and industrialised nations. Intelligent Cities (I-Cities) mission-oriented research addresses these issues and challenges with solutions that have the potential to improve the local economy, environment and quality of life in cities.
