​How do I submit my application?
Application must be made through our on-line application portal, which will be linked to UTP website's home page once it is open/available.  ​

​​The medium of instruction in my previous university is in English. Do I need to submit the English proficiency certificate?

Yes, English proficiency certificate (IELTS/TOEFL/TOEIC) is COMPULSORY for ALL students (whether the medium of instruction in previous institution is in English except for those who graduated from English speaking countries'  and UTP graduates).


Do I need to submit GRE score?
The GRE test score is not compulsory; it can be a supporting document to your application.​


​​What is the minimum qualification for English requirement?

Candidates are required to show proficiency in written and spoken English in one of the following forms:

  • ​A minimum TOEFL iBT score of 79  (Result is valid for 2 years only) OR
  • A minimum TOEFL CBT score of 213 (Result is valid for 2 years only) OR
  • A minimum TOEFL PBT score 550 (TOEFL iBT score Result is valid for 2 years only) OR
  • A minimum IELTS score of 6.0 (Result is valid for 2 years only) OR
  • A minimum ELTS score of Band-6 (Result is valid for 2 years only) OR
  • A minimum MUET score of Band-4 (Result is valid for 5 years only) OR
  • A minimum Cambridge English : First (FCE) score of 67
  • A minimum Cambridge English : Advanced (CAE) score of 52

However, this requirement is waived if candidate;

  • ​have obtained Bachelor / Master or other relevant degree from Malaysian recognized institution whereby all courses are fully conducted in English or;
  • a native of an English speaking countries or;
  • graduated from English speaking countries institutions​

​​Do I ​need to submit all the documents by post?
NO, all required documents need to be uploaded during filling in the online application form.


When can I check the status of my application?

The admission process will take about 1-2 months after the submission of COMPLETE application documents. Please wait for an update via email from us.​


What are the documents needed to apply for student pass?

  • ​2 passport size photograph with WHITE background (45mm high x 35mm wide)
  • 1 copy of ALL pages of passport with certified pages (including special pass and/or exit stamp where applicable). For Master candidate, the passport must be valid for at least 2 years from the expected date of entry. For PhD candidate, the passport must be valid for at least 5 years from the expected date of entry
  • 1 copy of special pass and/or passport page with exit stamp (where applicable)
  • A complete Academic (scroll or completion letter & transcript) and other certificates certified as a true copy by the institution issuing the document or a commissioner of oaths, notary public or lawyer.
  • Pre-Entry Medical Examination Report (from home country) dated less than 60 days from the application submission date (please use MOHE Medical Checkup as per attached)
  • No Objection Certificate (NOC) for students from Sub-Sahara countries. Please click here for more details.
  • A copy of the sponsorship letter (for sponsored students).
  • RM 2,120 payment slip for the following purposes:
    1. EMGS Visa Processing Fee
    2. Immigration Fees
    3. Medical Insurance Premium
    4. Post-Entry Medical Examination Report (from EMGS authorize panel clinics / hospitals)

How long should I wait to get the student visa?
Normal process duration will take about two (2) months but the process may take longer than usual if there is a missing document in your application. You may check your status in EMGS website.


How much money do I need to prepare for payment?
Registration fee need to be paid upon accepting the offer. Please find below the details;

How can I apply for financial assistance?
You may apply during filling in online application form. The decision will be made by the University Admission Committee members.​


Is in-campus accommodation available?
It is available for one (1) semester only and subject to availability.
