The Faculty of Geosciences and Petroleum Engineering was formed in 2006.  It began as a department in 2006 and later became faculty in 2011. Since 2007, the faculty has evolved and received its first undergraduate students. Currently, there are more than one thousand students in the faculty, including postgraduate students.  

At Geosciences and Petroleum Engineering, various programmes related to oil and gas industry are offered at undergraduate and postgraduate level.  As the development of the faculty continues to be industrially relevant, the faculty will continue to strengthen the academic curricula and at the same time explore research areas that contribute significantly to the development of the nation in particular, oil and gas.​​
