Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS (UTP) was established in 1997 and offers a wide range of engineering and technology programmes at underground and postgraduate levels, complemented by a strong focus on Research and Development (R&D). The programmes are designed with high industry relevance.

In addition to its engineering and technology based programmes, UTP also provides quality education in the areas of management and the humanities, with the aim of producing graduates who are well rounded exhibiting leadership qualities and communication competencies.

The University community comprise students and staff from various countries and the campus is located in a beautifully landscaped setting, amidst the new township of Seri Iskandar in northern Perak state. Its peaceful environment, wide open spaces and abundant lakes make these serene surroundings and ideal place for research and study.
