GRANTS

The university aimed to become a center of excellence in R&D. The focus on selected technology platform has streamlined the university researchers to move forward.

Funding allocation is expected to be secured from external agencies as well as internally. To date the university managed to secure funding mainly from government agencies.

IRPA (MOSTI)

During the 8th Malaysian Plan (2000-2005), the university managed to secure 13 research IRPA projects worth more than RM13M. list of projects

SCIENCEFUND (MOSTI)

ScienceFund is the new science research grant under the 9th Malaysia Plan (RMK-9) handed out by the Ministry of Science, Technology & Innovation (MOSTI). It's purpose is to support R&D projects which can generate new knowledge in strategic basic and applied science and develop new product or processes necessary for further development commercialisation in specific research cluster. list of projects

TECHNOFUND (MOSTI)

Realising the importance of R&D and innovation, the Government initiated a competitive funding to undertake pre-commercialisation of new, cutting-edge and breakthrough technologies in Agriculture, ICT, Biotechnology and Industry named TechnoFund in the Ninth Malaysia Plan (2006 – 2010). list of projects

PRF

The university is also working closely with PETRONAS Research and Technology Division to apply for funding from Petroleum Research Fund (PRF).The purpose of the Fund is for research and investigation of all problems and matters relating to the petroleum and energy sources including the funding of all activities in connection therewith. list of projects

STIRF

Short Term Internal Research Fund (STIRF) is a grant provided by UTP to help initiate research projects. Most research projects starts with STIRF funding before applying for larger funds such as Sciencefund or PRF. list of projects

OTHERS

There are research projects that have acquired funding from other grants. These projects are very few in number thus put under other grant. list of projects
