    UTP – WEATHERFORD COLLABORATION AGREEMENT

    15th November 2006

Mr Steve McBride, Weatherford Region Manager, Asia Pacific visited UTP campus on 15th of November 2006 and officially exchange the collaboration agreement on Petroleum Engineering Software with UTP Rector, Dr Zainal Abidin Haji Kasim.

This initiative between UTP and Weatherford started in 2004. The main purpose of the collaboration is to enhance the MSc Petroleum Engineering modules delivery: Production Technology II and Reservoir Engineering II: Well Testing, through the usage of up-to-date software applications: WellFlo and PanSystem.

Subsequently, the Software License Agreements were signed separately for both software by Mr Ashok Dixit, Weatherford Operations Manager and UTP Rector, Dr Zainal Abidin b Hj Kasim. Weatherford has then donated 10 licenses (5 for each software) which are estimated to be 1.8 million dollar worth of software licenses.

On top of that, Weatherford has continously provided UTP ( MSc PE Programme) with excellent support i.e.: provision of 25 temporary licenses for the ease of course delivery and technical support.
