VISIT BY THE DEPUTY PRIME MINISTER OF TURKMENISTAN
ON 11 APRIL 2007

Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS (UTP) once again played host to foreign dignitaries when it received a 4-member delegation from Turkmenistan led by their Deputy Prime Minister of Education, Mr. Kh. Saparliev on Wednesday, 11 April 2007.  He was accompanied by their Minister of Education, Mr. M. Anaamanov and two personnel from Turkmen Country Office, Tn Hj Sulaiman b Abdullah, the Country Manager and Mr Batyr Saparmamedov, the Government Liaison Officer / Translator.

The entourage was greeted on arrival by UTP’s Rector, Dr Zainal Abidin Hj Kasim and the management team.

 

 

A briefing on the University’s progress and development was made and the guests visited various facilities in the campus including the Information Research Center (IRC), Chancellor Hall and labs. The delegation also had the opportunity to meet 35 of the 48 Turkmenistan students who are currently studying in UTP.
