TITIAN BUDI 2008, UNIVERSITI TEKNOLOGI PETRONAS
23 – 27 APRIL 2008
The Student Representative Council of UTP, in collaboration with UTP Student Support Services Department, organised Titian Budi 2008, a community service programme. The event was held from 23 to 27 April 2008 at Kampung Olak Lempit, Kuala Langat, Selangor Darul Ehsan. 79 of UTP students from various backgrounds, including international students, took part in this programme.
The main objective of the programme is to instill racial integration between university students and the local communities. Secondly, it acts as a means to inculcate the awareness and sensitivity among UTP students on the importance of helping the needy and giving back to society in accordance to PETRONAS Brand essence: “Energy received, Energy returned, Inspiring people everywhere”.



The programme was officiated by Uztaz Abdul Nasir Bin Jajuli, the Village Head of Kampung Olak Lempit.
Various beneficial and interesting activities were carried out during this programme. Among the activities held were academic motivation talks, tuition classes, visiting and helping poor families by giving food as well as monetary donations, “gotong-royong”, a futsal match between UTP students and the village’s youth, talk by Agensi Anti Dadah Kebangsaan, Malam Gema Desa and Titian Budi Family Day with the foster families. Our students also built a small monument in the village garden to mark this momentous occasion.
Titian Budi 2008 was officially closed by Encik Nuridin Bin Sapan, Assistant District Officer of Kuala Langat and UTP was represented by Tuan Haji Mohamed Noor Rosli Bin Baharom, Director of Students Services. The programme received positive feedback and comments, especially on the contribution and support given by the students in ensuring the success of the programme
