SPE-UTP OIL & GAS SYMPOSIUM 2007 (OGS 2007)

The SPE UTP Oil & Gas Symposium 2007 (OGS) is an inaugural event organised by the Society of Petroleum Engineers – UTP Student Chapter. It was successfully held on the 10 – 11 April 2007 in Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS (UTP) campus. The SPE UTP Oil & Gas Symposium 2007 with the theme, “Developing Next Generation for Future Empowerment of Oil & Gas Industry” is corresponding to the vision of Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS (UTP) as the leader of technology, education and center for creativity and innovation. This event was officiated by Dr Zainal Abidin b. Hj Kasim, Rector of UTP.
In consequent of OGS 2007 objectives, all undergraduates and postgraduates would be broadly exposed to the world of Oil & Gas industry particularly the upstream exploration and production. OGS 2007 involved UTP undergraduates and postgraduates, UTP lecturers and staffs, representatives from oil and gas companies, students from other universities and schools.
The activities of the OGS 2007 include technical paper presentations by the industry experts, exhibition of the oil companies and services companies, career talks from the invited companies and the interview sessions for final year students.
