'AN EVENING WITH ROSES' - A CHARITY DINNER IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE LAUNCHING OF 'THE ROSES OF PERAK'

Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS (UTP) and Persatuan Isteri-isteri dan Kakitangan Wanita PETRONAS (PETRONITA) had organised 'An Evening With Roses' - A Charity Dinner in conjunction with the launch of the book 'The Roses of Perak' on 28 February 2007 at the Banquet Hall of Bangunan Perak Darul Ridzuan.
During the dinner, D.Y.M.M. Raja Permaisuri Perak Darul Ridzuan, Tuanku Bainun officially launched the coffee table book published by PETRONITA and UTP. This book portrays success stories of ten prominent women from various fields and professions, blooming from the bosom of Perak Darul Ridzuan : Puan Amy Mastura Suhaimi (singer-actress), Dato' Asiah Abu Samah (Educationist), Puan Hajjah Kamariah Alang Mat Nasid (Tokoh Ibu Mithali), Dato' Michelle Yeoh (Actress), T.Y.T. Dato' Noor Farida Ariffin (Diplomat), Tan Sri Nuraizah Abd Hamid (Public Administrator), Dato' Seri Rafidah Aziz (Senior Cabinet Minister), Dato' M Rajamani (Athlete), Dato' Seri Dr. Robaayah Mohd Zambahari (Cardiologist) dan Professor Dr. Rokiah Talib (Sociologist).
The event was attended by more than 600 corporate sponsors, in a significant rally of support for PETRONITA and the university community relations endeavours.
Proceeds from the fund-raising dinner will be channelled to deserving homes for the physically challenged and the orphans - Rumah Kanak-kanak Cacat Batu Gajah and Rumah Anak-anak Yatim & Warga Miskin Bait Al-Amin Parit.
The event was also attended by D.Y.A.M. Raja Puan Muda Perak, Raja Nor Mahani binti Raja Shahar Shah, Menteri Besar Perak, Y.A.B. Dato' Seri Diraja Mohamad Tajol Rosli Ghazali and wife, Y.A.Bhg. Datin Seri DiRaja Dato' Kamariah bt Mokri, Yang diPertua PETRONITA, Y.Bhg. Puan Seri Datin Seri Noraini Mohd Yusoff, Naib Yang DiPertua PETRONITA, Datuk Ainon Marziah Wahi, Vice President of Education PETRONAS, Y.Bhg Datuk Dr Rosti Saruwono and wife Y.Bhg. Datin Noorul Huda Mohd Dimyati, Rector & CEO of UTP, Dr Zainal Abidin Haji Kasim and wife, Puan Rosemi Hamdan, Perak State Excos, sponsors, orphans, the management of UTP and PETRONITA members.
The dinner also showcased performances by students of UTP, Salamiah Hassan and Amy Mastura.
