UTP HARIRAYA GATHERING

Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS held a Hari Raya gathering on 2 November 2007 at the Plaza of the Chancellor Complex. Held annually to celebrate and to strengthen ties in the true spirit of the festivals, over 1,000 guests comprising state government officers, UTP staff and their family members attended this joyous occasion. Some 60 orphans from Rumah Anak Yatim Bait Al-Amin, Parit, Perak were also invited to celebrate the event.

All guests were dressed up in their colourful traditional attire. They were served with an array of local delicacies such as the rendang, ketupat, fried kuetiaw and satay in hawker stalls style. Special performances by UTP management committee team led by Datuk Dr Zainal Abidin followed by other staff and student performances added to the festive atmosphere. To further add to the jovial mood of the occasion, the best dressed attendees were presented with prizes. Lucky draws were also held.
Later, the invited orphans and children of staff were presented with duit raya.
