SERVICES

 

Students and staff are automatically registered upon joining UTP. However, they are encourage to confirm their membership card by contacting IRC Circulation Counter during their first visit.

The services offered by IRC are currently for the university's population needs. At the moment, IRC does not offer membership to outside organisations such as companies, research institutions, individuals or students from other higher learning institutions. However they are welcomed to use our resources upon request through formal letters.

Loans

This privilege is given only to students and staff of UTP. Number of items that can be loaned, types and loan duration will be difference and according to categories of membership.

Inter Library Loans (ILL)

Inter library loans cover all libraries and resource centres registered under the Skim Pembekalan Penerbitan (SPP) National Library of Malaysia. Apart from that, registered users can also request for interlibrary loan from other PETRONAS Group-wide resource centres. This privilege allows users access to selected corporate information as well as enables resource sharing and cost reduction. All requests could be obtained using an ILLForm or email to ill_ircutp@petronas.com.my.


User Advisory

In providing a proactive service to assist users who experience difficulties in searching for specific information, IRC stations User Advisory at every designated levels. Users may seek assistance relating to services and facilities such as WebOPAC usage, answering simple and complex inquiries, referral services, and procedure of interlibrary loan as well as charges of any available facilities.

Information Skill Programs

The objective of this program is to expose users to library and information skills, introduce and educate them to various reference resources and identifying the most effective way of retrieving information they need. Please refer to User Advisory for further details.
