Candidates are required to apply online at UTP website http://www.utp.edu.my click Application – Postgraduate.


Application for MSc / PhD by research is open throughout the year. To enroll into the next Intake session (January, May and September), application form must reach us at least 90 days before the registration date. Allocation of placement in the next intake will be subjected to availability of placement.



Please follow the application procedures step by step beginning with STEP 1

STEP 1 – Before you apply

Please prepare the scan copy of the following documents into PDF format and to be emailed;

1. Printed application form
2. Identity Card for Malaysian / International Passport for Non Malaysian (if available)
3. Passport size photo (jpeg/gif format).
4. Original Academic Transcript and Degree Scroll (Official translation in English is required if the transcript is in other language) - Bachelor & Master
5. Statement of Interest (not more than 150 words)
6. Two letters of recommendation from two (2) referees. (Please use the given Referee Form).
7. Research Proposal.  - Only Research Mode
8. English Language proficiency certificate (TOEFL or IELTS for international students).

Proof of payment of Processing Fee (Internet Banking/Cash Deposit/Electronic Fund Transfer/Telegraphic Transfer) – MYR 20.00 (Malaysian), USD 50.00 @ MYR 160.00 (International)

10. Approval/confirmation letter from Proposed Supervisor (Research only - if any)
11. Sponsorship letter (if any)/ Financial Guarantee (financial ability to sustain for the whole duration of study)
12. Any other relevant documents to support your application.

 

Note: Please be informed that original copies of the above documents will be required during registration.




STEP 2 – Online Application


Please follow the sequence below :

1. Login to the Online Application Form
2. Complete all sections (A – I).
3. Please ensure all information in the Online Application Form is true and correct.
4. Click the “SUBMIT” button to submit your Online Application. You will notice a notification message informing that your submission is successful. Record the Online Application Serial number for future reference/s.
5. Please attach all the required documents in STEP 1 and email them to admissionutp@petronas.com.my within 7 working days of application submission. Please quote the Application reference number as a SUBJECT when submitting the scanned documents.  (Refer to screenshot below)

Please scan the documents according to the original format / do not amend @ cut & paste the documents. Scan in A4 size and PDF format.

Please ensure that each email do not exceed 4MB or send in a partial email.

Send only COMPLETE documents. INCOMPLETE documents will not be processed.
