What are the entry qualifications for admission into Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS ?

a) Foundation in Engineering

O-Level or equivalent

Pass O-Level with at least five (5) Credits (Grade C or 60% and above) inclusive of Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry AND any two (2) other subjects.

b) Foundation in Technology

O-Level or equivalent

Pass O-Level with at least five (5) Credits (Grade C or 60% and above) in Mathematics AND any two (2) other non-language subjects.

c) Undergraduate in Engineering

A-Level or equivalent

Pass A-Level with at least Grade C (60% and above) in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry.

d) Undergraduate in Technology

A-Level or equivalent

Pass A-Level with at least Grade C (60% and above) in Mathematics AND any two (2) non-language subjects.

When is the date of commencement for the next academic session?

What is the method of application?

Applicant must fill-up the application form which can be obtained from the UTP website and send the form together with the academic transcript to UTP via post or email. Applicants are advised to read the procedure of application on How to Apply/ Application Form.

When is the closing date of application?

There is no dateline for international students to submit their application form. application form must reach us at least 90 days

I have submitted my application. What is the next process?

Shortlisted candidates will be notified through email (based on the information given in the application form) for an assessment prior to the registration date.

How long does it take to complete a programme at UTP?

When we are supposed to pay the tuition fee?

During registration of new students, student will only be required to pay registration fee of RM884.00 (*USD267.90) and RM230.00 (*USD70.00) for medical check-up.  Student will be given until 2 weeks before the Final Semester Examination to make payment on the remaining tuition fees for the particular semester.

How often do I need to pay the tuition fees and how much do I need to pay each time?

Payment can be made each semester from the beginning of the semester until 2 weeks before the Final Semester Examination. The total tuition fee is based on the number of credit hours registered in the particular semester based on the following calculation:

Will there be in campus accommodation available?

Yes. Student will be provided with accommodation for their whole education period in UTP. The cost of accommodation at UTP is at RM600/semester (*USD181.82/semester) for Foundation Programme and RM760/semester (*USD230.30) for Undergraduate Programme
