Programme Information

 

This programme focuses on providing sound knowledge and experience in business management systems analysis and design methods, database management systems and commercial applications with opportunities to specialise in e-business and knowledge management. Throughout the programme there is also emphasis on ways to control and manage appropriate software in order to support business decision-making and to communicate effectively in commercial and business environment.

 

Students are equipped with relevant business management tools to take on the challenges of the global business scenario via the minor electives offered financial management or corporate management.

 

In later years of study, students will have the opportunity to major in one of these selected areas:

 

  • E-Business
  • Knowledge Management
  • Database

 

 

 

Programme Information

 

This programme provides students with fundamental knowledge and practical skills of computer technologies especially in programming, multimedia, network and software engineering. Throughout the programme there is also emphasis on how students could blend their technical expertise with management know-how in order to support business decision-making and to communicate effectively in commercial and business environment.

 

In later years of study, students will have the opportunity to major in one of these selected areas:

 

  • Multimedia Technology
  • Software Engineering

Entry Requirement

Academic Requirement 

STPM

  • Pass STPM with at least Principal C (or 2.00) in any two (2) non-language subjects AND
  • At least a final CGPA of 2.00/4.00; AND
  • At least Grade C in Mathematics at SPM;


OR

 

A-Level or equivalent

  • Pass A-Level with at least Grade C in Mathematics AND any two (2) non-language subjects; AND
  • At least Grade C in Mathematics at SPM;

 

 

OR

 

International Baccalaureate (IB)

  • Pass International Baccalaureate (IB) with at least Point 4 in Mathematics AND any two (2) non-language subjects;

 

 

OR

 

Matriculation

  • Pass Matriculation Program in relevant field from an Institution which is recognized by the Malaysian Government with at least a final CGPA of  2.00/4.00; AND
  • At least Grade C in Mathematics at SPM;

 

 

OR

 

Foundation in Relevant Field from Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS

  • Pass Foundation Program in relevant field from Universiti Teknologi PTERONAS with at least a final CGPA of 2.00/4.00; AND
  • At least Grade C in Mathematics at SPM;

 

 

OR

 

Foundation in Relevant Field from a Recognized Institution

  • Pass Foundation Program in relevant field from an Institution which is recognized by the Malaysian Government with at least a final CGPA of 2.00/4.00; AND
  • At least Grade C in Mathematics at SPM;

 

 

OR

 

Diploma in Relevant Field from a Recognized Institution

  • Pass a Diploma Program in relevant field from an Institution which is recognized by the Malaysian Government with at least a final CGPA of 2.00/4.00; AND
  • At least Grade C in Mathematics at SPM;

 

 

OR

 

Australian Matriculation Program

Pass Australian Matriculation Program with at least Grade C in Mathematics OR Specialised Mathematics and any two (2) other non-language subjects:
  • Year 12 Certificate, Australian Capital Territory;
  • Higher School Certificate (HSC), New South Wales;
  • Northern Territory Certificate Education (NTSE);
  • Queensland Senior Certificate;
  • South Australian Certificate of Education;
  • Tasmanian Certificate of Education (TSE);
  • Victorian Certificate of Education (VCE);
  • Western Australia Certificate of Education (WACE);

 

OR

 

Other equivelent qualification recornised by the Malaysian Government;

 

AND

 

Additional Requirement for Malaysian Students:

  • Candidate must be a Malaysian citizen.
  • Application must be made using the final examination semester results.
  • At least Grade C (Credit) in Bahasa Melayu at SPM.
  • At least Grade C (Credit) in Bahasa Inggeris at SPM OR Level 3 in Malaysian University English Test (MUET).

How to Apply

 

  • Tentatively, UTP has 2 intakes per year - i.e : January, May.
  • Application must be made online together with hardcopy submission
  • Applicant who is applying for Undergraduate Programme (i.e: application who has Diploma / STPM / Matriculation / Foundation / A-Level / IB or equivalent) MUST use his / her Final Semester Result and MUST fulfill the entry requirements as stated above to be eligible for consideration.
  • Announcement to invite application will be made at the main page of UTP Website once the online application is open for a particular intake session
  • Applicant need to submit a fresh new application for each intake session.
