Aspiration
- To provide world-class facilities for research in alternative energy, energy efficiency, and electrical energy·
- To conduct systematic research in the above areas, in line with UTP, PETRONAS and national aspirations·
- To deliver sustainable energy solutions for the betterment of society
General Description
Energy is a crucial area of development of today’s world. With the depletion in the production of fossil fuel, along with the alarming environmental problems vis-à-vis global warming, research in energy is demanding. The Energy MOR is supported by three sub-groups: Alternative Energy, Power Systems, and Novel & Hybrid Systems. At present, the main researches under the Energy MOR focuses on hybrid energy systems incorporating various alternative and renewable energy elements, by utilizing the available local resources. The Energy MOR also aims at producing a few Centers of Excellence that would support the need of the nation in relation energy.
