Aspiration
Center of Reference for Hydrogen & Biomass Research through Sustainable Technologies by 2020.
Team Members
General Description
- The MOR is focusing on sustainable technologies to reduce emission of green house gasses.
- The proposed road map under MOR Green Technology, covers biomass utilization and H2 research. Under the biomass roadmap, technologies that focus on biofuel, biogas and solid fuel production from non edible and lignocellulosic materials will be explored. For the mid term objectives, technologies to upgrade the bio syn gas into transportation fuel through catalytic conversion will be studied in addition to upgrading of biofuel to value added products. The long term objective is towards developing sustainable technologies to support bio refinery initiatives.
- Current project on bio-H2 is focusing on production of bio-H2 through catalytic gasification from primary resources i.e. biomass. Next the road map focuses on generation of H2 from secondary resources such as solar & water in which nanotech MOR will embark on. A part from that, research on H2 purification & storage will be carried out in realizing the final aim of the road map towards providing technology that can generate H2 from renewable resources to support refineries & petrochemical demand.
