Graduation Requirements
In order to graduate with the Bachelor degrees, students are required to:
• Obtain a minimum of 135 credit hours and CGPA of 2.00 for engineering programmes and Petroleum Geoscience
• Obtain a minimum of 118 credit hours and CGPA of 2.00 for technology programmes.
Admission Requirements
BACHELOR OF ENGINEERING (HONOURS) AND BACHELOR OF TECHNOLOGY (HONOURS) PETROLEUM GEOSCIENCE
- Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) or its equivalent
SPM holders must undergo UTP Foundation Programme (Engineering)
- To be eligible for UTP Foundation Programme applicants must obtain at least a grade of 4B in 5 subjects including English, Mathematics, Additional Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry. Candidates must obtain credit in Bahasa Melayu. The total units of these subjects, not including Bahasa Melayu, must not be more than 18 units.
- Matriculation (under the Malaysian Ministry of Education) or its equivalent (example: AUSMAT, IB, etc)
- Applicants must obtain a final CGPA of 3.00/4.00 or equivalent in the physical science stream.
- Sijil Tinggi Pelajaran Malaysia (STPM) or its equivalent (example: A Level)
- Applicants must obtain at least a PRINCIPLE C in Mathematics and Physics and Chemistry* and also a PASS in General Studies
* Applicants who do not obtain a PRINCIPLE C in Chemistry may also apply to enroll in Civil Engineering, Electrical and Electronic Engineering and Mechanical Engineering. However, they are required to undergo a bridging chemistry module at UTP on successful admission.
- Recognised Diploma in Engineering / Science
- Applicants must obtain a final CGPA of at least 3.00/4.00 or equivalent
BACHELOR OF TECHNOLOGY (HONOURS) BUSINESS INFORMATION SYSTEMS AND INFORMATION AND COMMUNICATION TECHNOLOGY
- Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) or its equivalent
- SPM holders must undergo UTP Foundation Programme (Technology)
To be eligible for UTP Foundation Programme applicants must obtain at least a grade of 4B in English, Mathematics and 3 other subjects. Candidates must obtain credit in Bahasa Melayu. The total units of these subjects, not including Bahasa Melayu, must not be more than 18 units.
- Matriculation (under Malaysian Ministry of Higher Education) or its equivalent (AUSMAT, IB, etc)
- Applicant must obtain a final CGPA of at least 3.00/4.00 or equivalent
- Sijil Tinggi Pelajaran Tinggi Malaysia (STPM) or its equivalent (example: A Level)
- Applicant must obtain at least a Principal C in Mathematics and any 3 relevant subjects* and also a PASS in General Studies
* (Physics / Chemistry / Computer / Business Studies / Economics / Accounting / Geography / History)
- Diploma in IT / Engineering / Science / Accounting / Business Studies / Other related courses
- Applicant must obtain a final CGPA of at least 3.00/4.00 or equivalent
Note:
- Applicants must obtain at least a Credit in Bahasa Melayu, English and Mathematics at SPM level or its equivalent.
- Diplomas from Private Higher Education Institutions (PHEI) must be approved by Private Education Department, Ministry of Higher Education and must be accredited by Malaysia Qualifications Agency (MQA).
- Non-Malaysian citizens who possess equivalent academic qualifications may also apply.
